Salt, Lime, Showtime!
Memphis is fully embracing margarita season! The Memphis Tequila Festival returns on June 27, bringing more than 50 tequila pours, agave cocktails, live DJs, food trucks, and bartender showdowns to The Kent.
From 5 to 8 p.m., attendees can sample tequila and agave-based cocktails from participating brands and bartenders while music, food, and a healthy dose of friendly competition keep the energy high.
A Passport to Good Decisions and Questionable Ones
Every ticket includes a 12-sample tasting passport, giving guests the chance to explore tequila pours, mini cocktails, and specialty drinks throughout the evening. It's a format that encourages a little adventure. One minute you're trying a classic tequila pour, the next you're debating whether a smoky cocktail or a citrus-heavy creation deserves the title of favorite.
The mixology competitions may end up stealing the spotlight. Local bartenders will compete for bragging rights while attendees watch, sample, and weigh in from the sidelines. Memphis has never been shy about celebrating talented people who know their craft, and this event gives some of the city's beverage pros a chance to show off.
Beyond the tasting stations, food trucks will be serving up festival fare, DJs will keep the soundtrack moving, and cigar lounges and photo opportunities provide plenty of reasons to linger between samples. The overall vibe feels much more like a summer-night party than a formal tasting event, which helps explain why the festival continues to attract both tequila enthusiasts and people who simply enjoy a good night out.
VIP guests can expect a few extra perks, including a welcome cocktail, dedicated lounge access, light bites, and expedited entry. For everyone else, the tasting passport alone provides more than enough opportunity to discover something new.
When the Festival Ends, the Night Doesn't
The official festivities may wrap up at 8 p.m., but the evening keeps rolling at The Dame inside Hotel Pontotoc. From 8 to 10 p.m., the official after-party offers live entertainment, late-night bites, signature Tequila Fest cocktails, and Oaxacan hot chocolate for guests looking to stretch the celebration a little longer.
While attendees will come for the cocktails, music, and summer-night atmosphere, the event also supports a local cause. Proceeds benefit Volunteer Memphis, an initiative of Leadership Memphis that connects residents with volunteer opportunities and community service projects throughout the Memphis area.
Summer event calendars are packed across the city, but few gatherings combine local bartenders, food vendors, music, and interactive experiences quite like this one. Whether you're a tequila connoisseur or someone who simply appreciates a lively night with friends, expect plenty of raised glasses, crowded dance floors, and conversations that last well beyond the final pour!
