Knoxville Goes Global!
The 13th Knox Asian Festival returns August 29 and 30 to World's Fair Park and the Knoxville Museum of Art, bringing East Tennessee together for a vibrant weekend celebrating the traditions, cultures, food, performances, and communities that continue to shape the region.
Presented by the Asian Culture Center of Tennessee, the festival has grown into one of Knoxville's signature multicultural events, drawing families, food lovers, and curious visitors who arrive ready to explore and learn.
A Weekend Built for Exploring
The celebration begins Saturday evening with a VIP event before the full festival takes over on Sunday. Throughout the park, visitors can wander between cultural pavilions, browse commercial vendors, connect with community organizations, and sample authentic dishes representing countries across Asia. Live performances fill the schedule with traditional dance, music, martial arts demonstrations, and cultural showcases that keep something happening almost every hour.
One of the festival's most popular traditions is the Asian Cultural Parade, bringing vibrant costumes, music, and community pride through the heart of the festival grounds. Families can also join hands-on activities through the Passport Program, encouraging children and adults alike to learn about different countries while collecting stamps and exploring interactive exhibits.
The neighboring Knoxville Museum of Art adds another layer to the experience. Festivalgoers can step inside to enjoy the museum's galleries before returning outdoors, where another performance, cooking demonstration, or cultural presentation is likely already underway.
