Batter Up! Pancake Week is Here

Batter Up! Pancake Week is Here

Some Tennessee towns built their reputation on mountain views or live music. Gatlinburg built its on pancakes. Long before the souvenir shops and scenic chairlifts, breakfast tables stacked high helped define the town’s personality. From February 21-28, Gatlinburg Pancake Week puts that legacy front and center, inviting locals and visitors to explore the strip through the restaurants that made it famous. It’s a week that treats breakfast like a destination, not an afterthought, and turns familiar stacks into a reason to roam.

Stacks With a Side of Competition

At the center of the fun is the Pancake Week Challenge. Check in at seven or more participating restaurants for a chance to score a prize pack and be entered into a giveaway for a two-night cabin stay and a gift card. It’s part food crawl and part friendly dare, giving people a reason to try places they may have walked past a dozen times.

The lineup features some of Gatlinburg’s most recognizable breakfast names, including Pancake PantryFlapjack’s Pancake Cabin, and Log Cabin Pancake House. Each stop brings its own personality to the plate, from classic stacks done just right to creative twists that turn breakfast into something worth planning around.

Beyond the challenge, Pancake Week adds a dose of spectacle with events like the Pancake Eating Contest, open to all ages and designed to be more fun than fierce. It’s the kind of moment that draws a crowd, sparks a few laughs, and becomes part of the town’s shared memory.

By the time Pancake Week wraps, most people won’t remember how many stacks they ate; they’ll remember which place surprised them, which line was worth the wait, and which restaurant they’d go back to even without a challenge attached. That’s the point. Gatlinburg Pancake Week isn’t about checking boxes or chasing prizes, but about narrowing a long list of breakfast stops down to a few personal favorites: the kind you come back for, year after year, long after the syrup’s been wiped off the table.
