Family Care Solutions

I wanted to let you all know a little about the Director of Family Care Solutions.

My name is Nikki Garcia. I was largely raised by my grandparents from the time I was an infant. Being raised by my grandparents is not unique, but it gave me a unique perspective because I watched as they went from completely independent, active people who were a valued part of their community to people who, through the realities of aging, became more and more dependent on others for help with every-day tasks of daily living such as cooking, bathing, transportation to doctor’s appointments and other essential errands. My grandfather was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which felt so sudden. His cognitive and physical health declined rapidly, after that. During this time, we continued to get out and do many of the activities they loved such as playing BINGO. Ferkel was one of our favorites ‘days out’ because we loved games, and it may have been said once or twice that we are a very competitive family!

My grandfather passed in 2002 at the age of 84. My beautiful grandmother, Gladys Rohane, lost her vision and lived several more years after my grandfather’s passing. She continued to need support and even in the nursing home, she needed personal support services until her passing at age 89, where she passed, not at home, but in a nursing home. That experience fueled my desire to help people of all walks of life to get the right care, right at home, where they thrive because they are familiar and comfortable. I spent time working at a home care agency and as I did the work, I saw clearly that with my passion and experience, I could help so many people. I am a well-seasoned caregiver, and I have the highest expectations of care for the family I have now that are experiencing the same needs my grandparents developed. “Quality of life” may sound like a quick phrase, but to me, quality of life is making the best of the life we have to live surrounded by love and support.

In 2022 I co-founded and became Executive Director of our family-owned home care agency, Family Care Solutions. I understand, firsthand, the challenges faced by aging adults as well as various ages of people living with chronic conditions and the stressors their families’ experience. I’m here to make a difference in our community. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or know someone in need of assistance with living a high quality of life. 

I am also reaching out in the community to build my referral program. I want to have all the information to give potential clients, even if I can’t personally be there for you and your family. It is my goal to be a resource and give the information you need to get the appropriate assistance for you and your loved one. You deserve “The right care, right at home”
