Overview & Purpose
The Knoxville Visitors Center (operated by Visit Knoxville) is located downtown at 301 South Gay Street, Knoxville, TN 37902.
It serves as a hub for visitor information: maps, attraction brochures, tour info, event listings, etc.
Visit Knoxville itself is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization contracted by the City of Knoxville and Knox County to promote tourism, conventions, and events in Knoxville.
The Visitors Center also houses the VK Sports Commission and the VK Film Office at the same address. Visit Knoxville also operates the 3rd Floor Welcome Center and 4th Floor Observation Deck of the Sunsphere attraction. Learn more at sunspheretickets.com

Hours of operation: • Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM • Saturday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM• Sunday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Its downtown location makes it easy to access while exploring central Knoxville.
There is public parking nearby, the closest being Market Square Parking Garage.
Features & Highlights
Live Music / Radio Show: The Center is the site of the WDVX Blue Plate Special — a live radio show / concert that runs from noon to 1 PM Monday–Thursday and Saturday.
First Friday Concerts: On First Friday of each month, they host free live music performances from 6–7 PM.
Gift Shop / Local Makers: The gift shop focuses on local and regional artisans. Over 80 makers contribute products (crafts, foods, local souvenirs) to the shop.
Information Resources: They offer brochures, maps (downtown, countywide, dining, etc.), visual displays / video content highlighting what Knoxville has to offer — from outdoor adventures to arts & culture.
Family & Kids Activities: On the third Friday of each month, the “Kid’s Corner” may have special programming (crafts, animal visitors, local athletes) to engage younger guests.
