We exist so that every person has the opportunity to maximize their God-given potential and impact the world for Jesus.

How We End Poverty

We recognize that poverty is more than lack of money—it is spiritual, physical, emotional, psychological, and social. That’s why our holistic model addresses each layer of poverty:

• Spiritual poverty ends through freedom in Jesus.
• Physical poverty ends with access to medical care and basic needs.
• Emotional poverty ends through restored dignity and purpose.
• Psychological poverty ends through quality education.
• Social poverty ends through access to opportunity.

Through this approach, Second Chance Global provides clean water, healthcare, education, discipleship, income opportunities, and leadership development. Our focus is not just on immediate aid but on equipping people to thrive.

From Earthquake Relief to Global Empowerment

Second Chance Global began in 2010 when founders Jeffery and Ashley Petress responded to the devastating earthquake in Haiti. What started as relief work in orphanages grew into a legally recognized nonprofit in 2016 with a refined focus on empowerment. Over the years, God has provided leaders, resources, and opportunities to expand into new communities and, most recently, into the Dominican Republic.

In just the last few years, we have provided:

• 700,000+ meals
• 600,000+ basic necessities
• 20,000+ with medical care
• 5,800+ with education
• 3,400+ income opportunities
• 186 children safely transitioned into family care
• Hundreds of thousands introduced to the hope of Jesus

Looking Ahead

Our journey is far from over. Today, Second Chance Global continues to strengthen its impact in Belize, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti while preparing for global expansion. With a clear mission, proven solutions, and trusted local leaders, we are pressing forward with faith and excellence to see entire communities transformed.
