Sara Thomas is the owner and attorney at August Law, PLLC.  

Hello!  I’m Sara Thomas.  I graduated from Notre Dame Law School.  They have a saying that they “educate a different type of lawyer.”  This means that they want to produce attorneys who are interested in more than just making money, but in making their community better.  This saying resonated with me and it’s the reason I decided to attend Notre Dame.  Practicing law is more of a vocation than an occupation for me.  In fact, I see it as a way in which I can make my mark on the world.   In my time as an attorney, I’ve practiced high-stakes litigation, business law, non-profit law and Title IX.  Surprising as it may seem, estate planning is where I believe I can make the most difference in helping people.  I have years of experience counseling people through hard circumstances.  Now I have my own firm, helping families proactively navigate questions relating to the two things no one can escape; death and taxes!  

Whether you are married or single, have a traditional family or a blended one, are starting out or looking back on a life well-lived, I will help you to design a plan that achieves your goals for your loved ones today and for years to come.

Besides practicing law, I also love spending time with my family; my husband and two daughters, ages 16 and 19.  I love to travel, hike, ski and lift weights.
