About Bearfoot in Blue Ridge

Hi, I’m Michelle, founder of Bearfoot in Blue Ridge Soap Company.

Like so many small businesses, Bearfoot began with a dream I never expected. Growing up, I imagined a career as a National Geographic photographer or a marine biologist. But life had other plans—and in 2018, those plans introduced me to the incredible Molly Elmore, who taught me the art of handcrafted soapmaking.

What started as learning a new craft quickly became a passion. Molly’s encouragement gave me the confidence to take a leap of faith, and in 2020, Bearfoot in Blue Ridge was born.

Today, Bearfoot has grown from a small home-based business into a destination boutique nestled on the Tennessee-Georgia state line. We create handcrafted bath, body, and home products designed to turn everyday routines into moments worth looking forward to. From our award-winning Shower Frosting®—featured in Southern Living—to our candles, lotions, soaps, and home fragrances, every product is made with care, quality, and a little Bearfoot magic.

One of the things that makes Bearfoot especially meaningful is our signature numbered scent collection. Each number honors someone who has made a lasting impact on my life, with every fragrance telling a story of love, friendship, family, or inspiration. My hope is that when customers choose a scent, they’re not just choosing a fragrance—they’re choosing a story that reminds us every life leaves a beautiful legacy.

At the heart of Bearfoot is a simple mission: create beautiful, high-quality products that make people smile, support our mountain community, and remind everyone that life is too short not to use the good soap.

Thank you for supporting our small business and allowing us to be a small part of your everyday moments.

Where Tennessee meets Georgia… and ordinary becomes extraordinary.
