Hi, I’m Michelle, founder of Bearfoot in Blue Ridge Soap Company.

In 2018, Molly Elmore introduced me to handcrafted soapmaking, sparking a passion that became Bearfoot in Blue Ridge in 2020. What started as a small home-based business has grown into a destination boutique on the Tennessee-Georgia state line—with a whole lot of love, hard work, and family behind it.

I’m the maker behind Bearfoot, but my husband, Gavin, is my absolute superstar. He believes wholeheartedly in our products and in me, and that enthusiasm shines through when he welcomes people into the shop. Customers often tell me how much they love seeing his support. I’m pretty sure he could sell ice to a snowman, but what makes him special is how much he cares about what we’ve built together.

Then there’s Jojo, who has always believed in me and encouraged me to keep growing, creating, and doing better. She’s part of the heart of Bearfoot, too—even if retirement means we get a little less of her time behind the counter!

Together, we’ve created a place where we hope people feel welcome, discover something they love, and leave with a smile. Our handcrafted bath, body, and home collection includes soaps, lotions, candles, home fragrances, and our award-winning Shower Frosting®—featured in Southern Living Stores.

Especially close to my heart is our signature numbered scent collection. Each number honors someone who has made a lasting impact on my life. These fragrances carry stories of love, friendship, family, and inspiration, making them a little more personal than just a beautiful scent.

Bearfoot is an extension of our family and the mountain community we call home. We’re grateful for every customer who walks through our door, shops from afar, or shares us with a friend.

And we firmly believe life is too short not to use the good soap.
