Greetings! I’m John, owner of Higher Rock Inspections LLC, and hailing from Cookeville, Tennessee. I grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I am a U.S. Navy veteran with a career in public service spanning nearly 25 years. 

My qualifications include Certified Professional Inspector with InterNACHI® — the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors — and a licensed home inspector in Tennessee. I am a member of the Upper Cumberland Association of Realtors. I am also fully insured with E&O and General Liability Insurance. I hold an undergraduate degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science with a minor in Forestry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a graduate degree in Business Management and Leadership from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. My extensive background in ecology uniquely qualifies me to examine environmental features, surface drainage patterns and groundwater influence, vegetative growth near structures, moisture intrusion issues, etc., on the properties I inspect.

I offer a variety of services including Home Buyer Inspections, Pre-Listing Inspections, 11th Month Warranty Inspections, Annual Maintenance Inspections, New Home Inspections, Pre-Drywall Inspections, Manufactured Homes, Insurance Inspections, 4-Point Inspections, and Thermal Imagery Inspections.

My inspections are non-invasive, visual inspections of properties and the systems and components within a home. Moreover, inspections comply with the Tennessee Standards of Practice for licensed home inspectors and InterNACHI’s Standards of Practice. My report includes a description of the systems in your home and recommendations for repair, monitoring, or further evaluation, as appropriate. The report is developed following the inspection and delivered in a timely manner- usually within 24 hours! From start to finish, my inspections provide my customers the information they need to make a confident decision!
