Worley's Cave

This property has been in our family for almost 100 years and we have been in this area of Tennessee for 250 years. We hope you enjoy this beautiful countryside as much as we have for all these years. 

The cave has been mapped out to about 4.5 miles with many other side adventures along the way to the back. Historians say that the cave was used for mining saltpeter for ammunition during the Civil War. The original landowner was Elias S. Worley. A local by the name of John Morril led many explorations which is why you will sometimes hear the name Morrell’s Cave (along with a variety of spellings!). The name of Worley’s Cave has stood the test of time though and we like it that way.
