About Amanda Smith & The Lofton
Amanda Smith — Founder & Culinary Visionary
Amanda Smith is the heart, soul, and mastermind behind The Lofton. A proud alumna of Le Cordon Bleu in Orlando, she perfected her culinary skills working with high-end catering companies and restaurants across Florida and North Alabama before launching The Original Endless Catering in 2011.
In 2015, Amanda’s vision grew: she transformed her catering legacy into an immersive wedding retreat by creating The Lofton—originally known as Whistle Hollow. A significant remodel in 2020 expanded its footprint to 8,500 square feet and rebranded the catering arm to The Lofton Catering.
Amanda’s approach is simple: luxury experiences that are warm, welcoming, and affordable. Her philosophy ensures couples enjoy transparent planning with no surprise fees. With over 20 years in events and catering, she brings a trusted vendor network and a focus on heartfelt service.
Off the clock, she’s all about family. Married to Josh, she’s mom to Ethan and Brody. From cheering on Alabama football to enjoying time around the water and supporting her boys at baseball games, her family roots are strong and fun.
Amanda’s leadership and impact haven’t gone unnoticed—Amanda Smith and The Lofton have been recognized for their excellence and impact both locally and regionally. In in 2019 Catering was honored with Small Business of the year, In 2024, The Lofton was honored as Hospitality Services Business of the Year by the Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce. Building on that momentum, Amanda was named Young Professional of the Year in 2025, celebrating her leadership, innovation, and dedication to creating unforgettable wedding and event experiences.
That same year, Amanda was also nominated for Woman-Owned Business of the Year, and The Lofton earned a nomination for Best of Tennessee—with results to be announced in September 2025. These recognitions highlight both Amanda’s entrepreneurial vision and The Lofton’s reputation as a premier destination for weddings and hospitality in the Tennessee Valley and beyond.
